The main duty of Congress is to create laws; additionally it carries out the following duties:Constituent Duties:In order to reform the Constitution through Legislative Acts. Electoral Duties:In order to elect General Comptroller, Attorney General, the Judges of the Constitutional Tribunal and the judges of the Jurisdictional and Disciplinary Court of the Superior Judiciary Board, Public Defender, and Vice-president in the case of total absence. Administrative Duties:In order to establish the structure and operation of Full Congress, Senate, and the House of Representatives. Public Control Duty: In order to subpoena any individual or legal entity with the purpose of testifying oral or written statements about facts related to investigations carried out by the Commission. Protocol Duties:In order to welcome Presidents or Chiefs of State from other Countries. |
